Paid search works for managed services, but only above a threshold. Spend too little and you buy a handful of clicks a month, learn nothing, and conclude that ads do not work for IT support.
Start from the maths, not the budget
Competitive IT support terms in UK cities run between four and twelve pounds a click. At a five per cent landing-page conversion rate that is roughly one hundred and sixty pounds per enquiry, before you filter out the unqualified ones.
If a managed contract is worth several thousand a year, that cost per lead is comfortable. The problem is only ever the sample size.
The minimum viable spend
You want at least thirty to fifty clicks a week to make decisions on. For most regional MSPs that means a floor of around one thousand two hundred pounds a month in media spend, held for at least three months.
- Tight geographic radius before broad targeting
- Exact and phrase match before broad match
- One landing page per ad group, never the homepage
Track contracts, not conversions
Feed CRM outcomes back into the ads account. Once the platform knows which clicks became signed clients, optimisation stops chasing form fills from job seekers and starts finding buyers.
